Travelers must visit Unkal Lake, which is 110 years old, to enjoy a peaceful and beautiful environment. Covering an area of 200 acres, this lake is one of the most popular attractions of Hubli. Apart from recreational activities, tourists can enjoy beautiful sunsets during the evenings.
The idol of Swami Vivekananda is placed in the middle of the lake. This place is known as the ‘Karma Bhoomi’ of Sri Siddappaja, born in 1859. He left home at the age of 14 to look for the Guru and settled in the temple of Unkal Mylaralinga.
Mr. Siddappaja died in 1921 and since then the fair has been held at the site. Unkal Lake is the main source of drinking water for nearby cities. The lake’s complex beautiful lush green garden mesmerizes travelers. Travelers come here for peace and serenity. Apart from this, you can also do boating in the lake.
